Panini 83: revisited

Jake Findlay Panini 83Back in June WCC posted an article which explored Glenn Hoddle’s maverick proclivities. Visual analysis of my Panini ’83 sticker album showed that all players in the English top flight managed to pose for a full length snap – except for Hoddle (an in-game snap of the Tottenham playmaker was used instead).

This finding was rendered slightly precarious by the absence of Jake Findlay from my collection. WCC sent out an impassioned plea for scanned copy of this sticker. And now, months after World Cup 2010, Philip (from Winchester, now residing in New York) has kindly sent in a picture of Findlay this confirms that the Luton Town goalkeeper was also able to comply with Panini’s request for a posed full-length photo. If there were any lingering doubts with regard to Hoddle’s mercurial outsider status, these must have been dispelled by the completion of this sample.

Philip is missing West Brom’s Brendon Batson from his Panini ’83 collection. If by any chance anyone out there has a ‘swap’ of Batson, please let WCC know so that arrangements can be made for his safe transfer.
