WCC is proud to present an exciting graphic story Wing-back. It’s 2001, and wing-back Ashley Le Sansom has been Everpool Rovers’ star player for several seasons. But football is a changing game, so what does the future hold for Le Sansom under new manager Glenn Keegan…?

A wing-back would never have a hairstyle like that!
I can’t for the next Wing-back annual to come out this Christmas! It’s always the highlight of my literary calendar.
It’s bad management to call your players by their positions. Ashley’s mates Lone Striker and Holding Midfielder wouldn’t take that s–t!
Glenn Keegan is, and always has been, a lousy tactician. His decision to play an inverted mug tree formation against Sundersea Athletic was so misguided it was almost untrue. No wonder he got the boot from Queensdale Town!
Anyone else think ‘Wing-back’s Ashley Le Sansom is loosely based on Graeme Le Saux?
Note also the canny reference to Everton and Liverpool’s ground share.
Its for this kind of edgy satire that I buy my weekly copy.
