My name is Dr Dassie Rat and I’m the Vice Chancellor of World Cup College (WCC). This is an elite institution* which sets out to explore the deepest underpinnings of football.
Our faculties, Arts and Law, Social Science, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences will take divergent but complementary approaches to the study of the game. The road to World Cup 2010 will be examined in painstaking detail through scientific analysis, the empirical rigour of social science and transcendental musings of the Arts. For some light relief you can pop to our Student Union for some frippery and cheap lager.
We’ve been ticking over since the start of the qualifiers and monitoring England’s progress under Fabio Capello. Our state-of-the-art Centre for Match Analysis was founded in 2007: please feel free to peruse our match reports from the qualifiers (and a couple of friendlies).
This World Cup blog is starting in earnest now and, whilst the focus will be on England, we’ll be considering the impending tournament in South Africa as comprehensively as possible. In addition, we will be offering:
- No behind the scenes exclusives from the England camp
- No interviews with top players
- No competitions with great prizes
Welcome to World Cup College!
